About Dudi

Munich native, formerly a fashion designer, now a lapidary artist and mineral collector.

What constantly accompanied me as a fashion designer and seamstress were the beautiful colors, patterns, and designs I found in nature.
In particular, I tried to incorporate the structures of various stones into my designs.

My desire to create something "beautiful" and "shiny" could not be satisfied through the craft of tailoring.

That's how I discovered the work of a lapidary artist and my personal passion for the world of minerals grew rapidly.
The special joy of being a lapidary artist lies in diving into the inside of a mineral and discovering things I never would have expected from the outside.

These fascinating shapes and colors I can now bring to life through this craft.

My story

It all started a few years ago, when I wanted to continue developing myself as a fashion designer and artist. I thought a lot about my various passions and how I could combine them.
On one hand, I love working with different materials, and on the other hand, I love finding inspiration and tranquility in nature.

It was a childlike curiosity - wanting to bring calcified tumbled stones from an old, dusty tabletop fountain "back to a shine" - that brought me closer to nature again and into the world of minerals.

In the end, a rock tumbler made this wish possible, and for the first time I could see results. The grey around the stone disappeared and its beautiful colours came to light.

But was that enough for me?

The desire for "more" came quickly. I wanted to work with my hands.

- to feel and shape the stone.

My curiosity could only be satisfied through more stone grinding, polishing courses, and professional equipment.

Now the path is set for the continuous learning of the craft of stone polishing. The wish to share my passion with others and bring my many ideas to life has grown ever larger - and so the idea of opening a business no longer seems unrealistic at all.

The company's values

Traceability

Minerals sourced directly from mines and mining operations can be sold immediately after inspection and cleaning. Minerals in their rough state are further processed in Dudi's Druse's own workshop using various techniques. Through Dudi's own continuously refined craftsmanship, mineral cuts and artistic, sculptural objects made of stone can be offered with scratch-free and outstanding results. Tumbled stones are also produced in the workshop.

Where the work can be traced 100% to a fair origin and this is verified through research, the works of other trusted artists and craftspeople whom Dudi knows personally are also offered.

Fairness

Dudi's Druse aspires to become a 100% guaranteed sustainable business in the future, sourcing minerals exclusively from fair working conditions. Through independent research as well as personal, repeated visits to the mines and meetings with the miners, an ethical way of working can be guaranteed.

When all aspects of the fair concept are met, the minerals can be purchased and offered for sale.

Transparency

The disclosure of the entire process - from the idea or discovery of the mineral, through any research and laboratory reports, the further processing of the stones, all the way to the finished product - will be continuously presented on the Dudi's Druse website as the business expands.

The results of all research work will also be shared on the website as well as on Dudi's Druse's various social media platforms.

Sustainability

When selecting the packaging materials, Dudi's Druse relys on sustainable alternatives such as cardboard, paper, and biodegradable materials. The goal is to transition to a fully plastic-free packaging solution in the long term, thereby further reducing our ecological footprint.

A conscious approach is also taken when it comes to shipping. Collaborating with logistics partners who use CO₂-optimised shipping routes and offset their emissions through certified climate protection projects is a small step towards a climate-neutral and sustainable future.
